The official newsletter of SJAUG

Published monthly, a PDF file of the newsletter is emailed to all members in good standing. The Candy Apple is a collection of news, articles, tips, reviews and other items relating mainly to Apple computers. There is also a section for Q & A – send your questions – we'll do our best to find answers!

Contributions for the newsletter are welcomed and encouraged. Email to carol@sjaug.org. Send your file, preferably in TextEdit, along with any accompanying graphic files – .jpgs are preferred. Use the handy outline below to create your article.

Type it into TextEdit or directly into the email message window just as if you were writing a letter. Just tell your story – it does not have to be technical.

Helpful guidelines :
Length:
One page is a good length, about 1000 words. Include pictures, if you can.

Explain about the item: Product name, vendor’s web address, system requirements, OS, processor speed, min. RAM needed, price. If it’s a book, list title, author, publisher, number of pages, mention illustrations, size of the book, binding, if CD included, etc.

How would you rate it? Tell about the product’s strengths & weaknesses.
Rate it: 1 (Poor) to 10 (Excellent), or use the 1 to 5 "Apples" scale.

Software or hardware: Packaging, price, sound, QuickTime, color, manual, support, graphics, ease of installation, system requirements, etc.

Include your name and a photo of yourself, if you’d like – a 640 x 480 .jpg, if possible.

If you need help or have questions, we will be glad to help you get started. Email your questions or completed review to carol@sjaug.org.

We appreciate any and all contributions. If your review is about a product that was donated to SJAUG, you get to keep the product after you submit the review.

The editor reserves the right to edit reviews for space considerations. Offensive material will not be published.
