South Jersey Apple Users Group

"Macs for Students” (MFS) provides gently used Apple MacIntosh computers to the community. This community service supports “students” in Burlington County, New Jersey and surrounding areas by providing computing options to today’s deserving students (traditional and non-traditional), whose request for Computer have been through our review process & accepted.

A subgroup of South Jersey Apple Users Group (SJAUG), Macs for Students’ dedicated volunteers meet to recycle donated components into working systems for recipients who would not be able to obtain a computer otherwise. Since inception in 1998 MFS provided computer systems to the following:

• Traditional Students:
    –after school day-care program
    –college, high and middle school students
    –ESL students

• Non-Traditional Students & other computer users:
    –special needs retiree
    –homebound disabled journalist
    –senior citizens assisted living center
    –adult computer technology students training for reentry into the work force

• Non-Profit Organizations :
    –The Children's Home, Mount Holly, NJ
    –Crossroads Shelters, Burlington County, NJ
    –JobTech (Epilepsy Foundation of NJ), Westmont, NJ
    –Ronald McDonald House, Camden, NJ

Recipients of MFS systems are given an introductory packet (including system specifications), 1 year complimentary individual membership and are encouraged to attend monthly meetings.
